Sylvia’s practice encompasses a broad range of commercial and real estate matters, including contract disputes, business litigation, property disputes, easement and land use issues, and matters involving residential and commercial real estate. Throughout her career, she has also handled tax controversies, labor and employment matters, probate-related real estate disputes, and multidistrict litigation, giving her experience across a diverse spectrum of civil litigation.
Sylvia’s legal practice is further strengthened by her background in accounting. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at El Paso before obtaining her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston. Prior to becoming an attorney, she worked full-time in accounting while attending law school in the evenings, developing the analytical skills and financial acumen that continue to benefit clients facing complex business and real estate disputes.
Sylvia is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the State of Texas, and is a Texas Certified Mediator. She is an active member of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas and has been included in the 2026 Texas Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers. She is a member of the Mexican American Bar Association of Houston and the Houston Association of Women Attorneys.
