Christin Grant Petty is an accomplished trial and appellate attorney whose practice spans complex commercial litigation, breach of contract, construction disputes, real estate litigation, employment matters, consumer litigation, and business disputes. Over more than a decade of practice, she has represented individuals and businesses in state and federal courts throughout Texas, serving as first-chair trial counsel, handling appeals, and successfully resolving matters through trial, summary judgment, mediation, and negotiated settlements.
Christin’s approach to law is client-centric, focusing on understanding each client’s unique needs and crafting tailored legal strategies. Her commitment to excellence and relentless advocacy has solidified her reputation as a trusted legal advisor in the Houston area.
Christin’s legal career has been shaped by a longstanding commitment to advocacy. Before attending law school, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from Marymount University. While completing her graduate studies, she served as a Sentencing Advocate Intern with the Public Defender’s Office in Fairfax, Virginia, where she prepared sentencing memoranda, conducted criminal and psychosocial investigations, and worked closely with indigent clients facing serious felony charges. She also gained valuable experience working with patients at a community mental health center, deepening her understanding of the intersection between mental health and the legal system.
She later joined the Capital Defender’s Office in Northern Virginia as a Mitigation Investigator, where she worked alongside attorneys representing indigent defendants charged with capital murder. In that role, Christin conducted extensive psychosocial investigations, interviewed witnesses and experts, developed mitigation themes, and helped prepare guilt and penalty phase trial presentations. These formative experiences established the client-centered approach that continues to define her practice today.
Christin graduated magna cum laude from South Texas College of Law Houston, where she distinguished herself academically and as an advocate. She received the Judge John G. Bowes Memorial Writing Award, earned highest-grade honors in Legal Research & Writing and Criminal Trial Advocacy, and was recognized with numerous additional academic honors, including the Garland R. Walker Alumni Scholarship and Langdell Scholar distinction. Her article, The Texas Intellectual Disability Standard in Capital Murder Cases: A Proposed Statute for a Broken Method, was published in the South Texas Law Review. During law school, she clerked for Rusty Hardin & Associates, focusing on both civil and criminal litigation, and interned with Texas Defender Service, where she was part of the legal team that secured an eleventh-hour stay of execution for Duane Buck after uncovering a significant legal issue involving racial stereotyping.
Christin began her legal career with Feldman & Feldman shortly after the firm’s founding in 2012. During her initial years with the firm, she litigated a wide variety of commercial and civil disputes in state and federal courts, serving as first-chair trial counsel in multiple successful jury trials while obtaining favorable results for clients through dispositive motions and mediation. The experience she gained during those formative years established the foundation for the remainder of her practice.
Following her time at Feldman & Feldman, Christin expanded her commercial litigation practice at Hirsch & Westheimer, P.C., Irelan McDaniel, and Shackelford, Bowen, McKinley & Norton, where she represented businesses and individuals in increasingly complex litigation matters involving construction, real estate, insurance, contract, fiduciary duty, fraud, and other business disputes.
In 2024, Christin co-founded a women-owned litigation firm built on the principles of client service, collaboration, and strategic advocacy. As a founding partner, she helped guide the firm’s growth while continuing to represent clients across a broad range of commercial litigation matters. That entrepreneurial experience further strengthened her leadership skills and broadened her perspective as both an attorney and business owner.
Christin rejoined Feldman & Feldman in 2025, bringing with her the experience gained through years of practice, leadership, and firm ownership while returning to the place where her legal career first began. Her combination of trial experience, appellate advocacy, strategic thinking, and practical business insight allows her to provide clients with thoughtful counsel and effective representation at every stage of litigation.
Christin is admitted to practice in Texas, including the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas. She has been recognized by Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 2021 and 2022.
