Derek Bauman has over fifteen years of experience practicing appellate law. He has been board certified in civil appellate law since 2012. He uses his experience to guide clients at Feldman & Feldman on building their best case for appeal.
Derek attended the University of Texas for undergrad. He later entered law school at the University of Houston. After graduating, he spent his first year of practice working for Justice Laura Higley at the First Court of Appeals. He spent four years in private practice working on trials and appeals until he returned to the First Court of Appeals as a staff attorney. While at the court, Derek worked closely with the appellate judges to review and resolve a broad spectrum of appeals, from burglary to complex business litigation. Derek worked in the City of Houston’s legal department before joining Feldman & Feldman. There, he honed his skills on various aspects of government litigation.
At Feldman & Feldman, Derek uses his deep experience with appellate law to guide clients through the shoals of complex business litigation, tort, and government litigation. He is licensed in Texas and has been admitted to practice in the federal Southern District of Texas and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
